The Folk Festival takes over the entire park, including the fort grounds and waterfront lawns that are normally open for photos. Expect fencing, ticket checkpoints, and crowds well before and after the festival’s official hours as crews load in and load out.

Newport Jazz Festival — late july/Early August
Same story the following week: the 2026 Newport Jazz Festival runs July 31 through August 2 at Fort Adams State Park. Stage construction typically begins several days before the festival and teardown continues for a few days after, so I generally steer clients away from the surrounding week entirely, not just the festival dates themselves.
