Explore Scenic, Lesser-Known Ocean & Coastal Locations

It’s genuinely one of the most common questions I’m asked, and I get why—it can be a real challenge. Rhode Island’s coastline, especially around Newport in the summer, tends to be busy with tourists, so finding a spot that’s both breathtaking and private takes local knowledge. While I can’t guarantee complete solitude on any given day in public spaces, here are a few of my favorite go-to recommendations for clients who want an unforgettable setting without an audience:

  • Beavertail State Park (Jamestown): Known for its dramatic rocky cliffs and sweeping Atlantic views, Beavertail offers expansive shoreline space away from the main lighthouse crowd. It’s ideal for an intimate, cinematic coastal proposal where you can easily find a quiet ledge or rocky cove to call your own.
  • Lincoln Drive at Fort Adams (Newport): A narrow out-and-back road on the bay side of Fort Adams, this hidden gem is mostly used by locals walking dogs, fishing, or riding bikes. It’s one of the few places in the state where you can park directly along the water, keeping things simple, low-key, and accessible without sacrificing incredible bay views.
  • Lesser-Known & Hidden Gems: Depending on your style, we can also look at quieter, off-the-beaten-path locations.

Reviewing Your Options on a Zoom Call

Once you reach out, we will set up a 1-on-1 Zoom planning session. We’ll walk through these locations together, go over the exact pros and cons of each spot (considering lighting, tide, accessibility, and crowd levels), and tailor every detail so you find the perfect backdrop that fits your vision.
