Interior Architectural Photography: 2800 Sq ft. Basement Remodel
From Unfinished to Fabulous: A Basement Transformation
From unfinished space to luxurious living: I documented the finished transformation of a 2,800 sq. ft. basement for DiStefano Brothers Construction (www.dbcri.com). The remodel, which includes a beautifully appointed gym, was photographed using a Canon EOS 1DX MkII paired with a Canon TS-E 24mm tilt-shift lens.
To ensure the design team’s vision, who supervised the shoot, was perfectly captured, I employed a tethered shooting setup, allowing for immediate feedback and composition approval directly on a MacBook Pro.
With the 1DX’s live view displayed on the laptop screen, the design team could see the composition as I adjusted the camera. This real-time feedback allowed them to approve each shot before capture.
This collaborative approach resulted in stunning images and a highly efficient workflow.

Techy Stuff:
- Camera: Canon EOS 1 DX MkII
- Lens: Canon TS-E24mm f/3.5
- Image type: HDR (+/- 2 stops)
- Shutter Release Timer: 2 seconds
- Laptop: MacBook Pro
- Tethered Software: Capture One
- Post-Processing: Lightroom/Photoshop
Note: I edit in Lightroom/Photoshop but I have found Capture One to be a much more stable platform when shooting tethered.
