Point Judith Proposal at Camp Cronin’s Fisherman’s Memorial
Michael & Celestial’s Surprise Proposal at Camp Cronin, Narragansett RI
A Point Judith Proposal at Camp Cronin’s Fisherman’s Memorial
I’ve wanted to photograph a Point Judith proposal for a long time. Plenty of couples ask for a lighthouse backdrop, and Point Judith Lighthouse in Narragansett is about as classic as Rhode Island gets. But between wind, weather, crowds, and timing, the conditions never lined up. Until Michael.
Ocean Views Without Sand Underfoot
Michael wanted ocean views for his proposal to Celestial, but he didn’t want sand underfoot. 🌊 Narragansett has no shortage of beaches, but finding a spot with that wide-open water feel and a little privacy is harder than it sounds.
The Fisherman’s Memorial Overlook at Camp Cronin checked every box. It sits right at Point Judith with open water in front of you and the lighthouse in view, and there’s no beach to trudge across.
Timing a Point Judith Proposal Around the Crowds
There was one catch: 4pm on a beautiful day can bring a steady parade of visitors, all there for the same view. 😅 This time our timing was impeccable (and, honestly, a little lucky). The overlook cleared, Michael got down on one knee, and Point Judith Lighthouse stood right behind them like it had been waiting for this moment as long as I had.
Congratulations, Michael and Celestial. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures together! 💍
Planning Your Own Point Judith Proposal?
A lighthouse proposal takes more than showing up. It depends on the light, the wind, the crowds, and a backup plan if the overlook is busy. I’ve been photographing surprise proposals across Rhode Island since 2009, and I’ll help you pick the time and angle that gets the lighthouse in the frame without strangers in the background. Let’s plan yours.
