Michael & Katia’s Joyful Coastal Surprise in Jamestown

Last night at Beavertail, on a hot summer night that couldn’t have been more perfect, Michael pulled off one of the rarest moments in this job — set against the kind of Rhode Island coastal backdrop that makes this state impossible to beat for a proposal.

Here’s the thing about proposals: about 80% of the time, there’s some flicker of expectation on the other side. She’s wondered. Maybe she’s hoped. The surprise is in the when, not the if.

Then there’s the other 20%. The ones that come completely out of left field.

Katia was firmly in that group. Zero idea. Only four people on earth knew it was happening at that exact moment — and when it did, her reaction wasn’t just a yes. It was pure air. She jumped. She cried. She jumped some more.
