After the job market for glamourous archaeologists dried up, Miss Mina Murray abandoned her Ivory Tower and turned to the art of the striptease. She is a co-founder of The Boston BeauTease (formerly The Boston Babydolls), a classic-style burlesque troupe performing all over New England and beyond. As Headmistress of the Boston Academy of Burlesque Education (B.A.B.E.) she has taught hundreds of women to bump, grind, and disrobe. Miss Murray is famed for her stunning costumes and is an internationally-recognized master of the art. Known as “The Martha Stewart of Burlesque”, she recently published Miss Mina Murray’s Little Book of Better Burlesque , a compilation of helpful tips for improving life on-, off-, and backstage, inspired by her blog, Oh, The Glamourous Life. The pocked-sized volume is a gentle guide to doing everything more beautifully and easily. When not on-stage, Miss Murray enjoys reading detective novels, snuggling a particular large white cat, and cooking from historic recipes.
