Photojournalism Wedding Photography
Photojournalism is a term initially used to describe stories via the use of photos in newspapers, magazines, and other publications. As a ‘journalist’ the photojournalist was paid to observe and record events as they unfolded via their photographs without editing or interference in the proceedings in the modern world, this approach is adopted in the documentation weddings by some photographers, and I, George Ross, are one of those photographers.
Photojournalistic photos on their own would not provide every client with a complete wedding album because the formal wedding photos are the most valuable – bridal portraits, bride and groom formals, family group photos, etc. However, there is a story to be told, a story of your wedding day and in between the essential formal pictures the wedding photojournalist sets to work telling the story of your wedding day.
The choice of black and white images dates back to the origin of wedding photojournalism. It is my personal preference, but some clients prefer color, and so I shoot the photographs in color and apply a black and white conversion where appropriate.
I hope you enjoy my work.
